Fiji enjoys a tropical maritime climate without
greater extremes of heat of cold. The islands lie in an
area that is occasionally traversed by tropical cyclones
that are mostly confined to the months of November to
April. On average some ten to twelve cyclones per decade
affect some parts of Fiji, and two to three can be very
severe.
At all seasons the predominant winds over Fiji are the
Trade Winds from the east to southwest. On the western
and eastern sides of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu however,
daytime breezes blow in from the sea.
Temperatures average 22 degrees Celsius (72F) for the cooler months (May to October) while summer (November to April) temperatures are higher with heavy downpours. see current weather & more
